NOVENA PRAYER TO ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
O glorious St. Vincent, loving servant of the poor and the less fortunate, in your lifetime you did not reject anyone who had recourse to you. We come to you in our needs believing that you will heed us, trusting in your help. Obtain from our Lord abundance for the poor, solace for the sick, comfort for the afflicted, protection for the abandoned, generosity for the rich, uprightness for the powerful, conversion for sinners, zeal for priests, faithfulness for the Church, peace among nations, concern for the earth, and salvation for all.
May the fire of Christ’s love, kindled by the Holy Spirit in your incorrupt heart, become the flame of zeal in our lives. Teach us, O holy servant of the poor, to love and cherish one another in the presence of Jesus.
May all feel the effect of your merciful intercession amidst the challenges of life until we come to join you above where there will be no more strife, lamentation and sorrow, but beatitude, exultation and joy forever. Amen.
PRAYER FOR OUR HOMES
O holy servant of God, we ask you to bless our homes. Make husbands and wives steadfast in mutual love and faithfulness. May parents remain open with prompt charity, wise care and loving devotion toward their children, so that they may be for them enlightened guides and loving companions. Let them experience joyful fulfillment in sharing the gift of themselves with their children. Bless the children with generous hearts that they may complement with a sense of co-responsibility their parents’ efforts in guiding them through life.
We commend to your loving care and protection the migrant workers who labor in other countries for the welfare of their families. Bless those who minister to their needs and the needs of their families.
We ask you to help those who have lost their jobs find means to support themselves and their dependents. Deal with those who employ others so that they may help improve the economic condition of their workforce and wage-earners. Reward them and their families for their concern, uprightness and sense of justice.
Bring comfort and healing to the sick and infirm members of our family. Send people who will attend to and console them. May they be, like you, extensions of the presence of Jesus, your Redeemer and Savior, to those who suffer and are in pain.
May our families, blessed through this novena, receive a portion of your spirit and become new apostles of your charity today. Amen.
PRAYER FOR OUR VINCENTIAN MISSIONARIES
Merciful Father, you desire all men and women to be saved, and you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to preach the Good News of salvation to the poor. Through the power of your Spirit and the ministry of the Church, you continue your saving deed in our midst. We ask you then to bless the work of our Vincentian missionaries and all their collaborators. Through the power of your word help them touch the hearts of sinners. Through the grace of the sacraments reconcile your people to yourself, and may they form one community with Christ and in Christ.
O Mary, Queen and Mother of the missions, pray for our missionaries and those who are most abandoned so that the kingdom of your Son may be established in every heart and home.
